Director and Writer

Hello!

My name is David Drew and I am New York City based Director, Writer, and Stage Manager orginally from the Sunshine State of Florida.

I am a graduate of PACE University, where I studied Directing and Stage Management. Throughout my time at PACE, I have had the opportunity to direct and study classical and contemporary plays and musicals and collaborate on a devised show.

Early In 2021 I started a performance charity based organization, Sweet Charities NYC, whose goal is to bring to light amazing charities and donation based organizations that help people from all walks of life. Sweet Charities NYC focus on organizations that help Communities of Color and LGBTQIA+ people and children. In 2021, we were able to put on three virtual cabarets that helped raise over $2,500 for the Audre Lorde Project.

I am also the Artistic Director of Avon Audio. An audio based theatrical group that elevates audiobooks of classical works. Our goal is to make playwrights like Shakespeare more approachable, educational, and exciting. I founded Avon Audio because as someone who loves Shakespeare, but struggled with Dyslexia in school, audiobooks and auditory learning techniques really helped my growth as a student as well as an artist.
